"Croatia's Ministry of Tourism and Sport has allocated nearly €700,000 across two public calls to fund scholarships and enhance vocational tourism training."
In an effort to nurture the next generation of hospitality professionals, the Croatian Ministry of Tourism and Sport has launched two new public grant initiatives totaling €698,600. The initiatives focus on student scholarships and the enhancement of vocational and artistic skills critical to sustaining the country’s world-renowned tourism sector.
Scholarships Bridging Education and Industry
A major portion of the funds, €408,600, is dedicated to monthly student stipends worth €266 per recipient. Carried out in direct partnership with leading tourism businesses—including luxury hotels, campsites, charter marinas, and restaurants—the program offers aspiring chefs, hotel managers, and service staff hands-on experience and seamless integration into the workforce.
Fostering Green and Inclusive Tourism Education
The remaining €290,000 has been set aside for vocational, technical, and arts schools across Croatia. Grants of up to €11,000 per multi-school project will fund educational projects focused on ecological sustainability, climate change mitigation, and accessibility for travelers with disabilities. These grants aim to prepare young professionals for the modern challenges facing the Mediterranean travel industry.
As Minister of Tourism and Sport Tonči Glavina emphasized, skilled personnel are vital to preserving Croatia's reputation for genuine hospitality and high service standards. For travelers visiting Croatia, this continuous investment translates directly into elevated service quality and authentic travel experiences across the Adriatic coast and continental regions.
