Sinj is the heart of the proud Dalmatian hinterland, a city of glorious history and deep tradition. It is best known for the Sinjska Alka, a UNESCO-protected knightly tournament held annually to commemorate the victory over the Ottomans. The city is also one of the most important Marian sanctuaries in Croatia, housing the miraculous painting of the Lady of Sinj.
